ABOUT W1P STUDIO

We are Charlotte and Anaëlle, we started working together as a team at the end of 2020. We quickly realized that we have a similar vision of how we want to contribute to the fashion industry, share the same values and aesthetic. During that time we defined our three core values:

„SUSTAINABILITY, DIVERSITY, INCLUSION“.

From that point on, we developed our brand W1P Studios, which we founded in 2022. Each one of us brings different strengths to the team, which we can implement, and thus complement each other.

The inspiration behind the our name is the expression „Work In Progress“. Based on this, we would like to remain constantly in motion. With the help of fashion as a form of communication, we made it our responsibility to deal with various social issues, to constantly critically question ourselves and our environment.

We create contemporary craftsmanship by using both traditional and modern techniques.

Additionally, we are innovative by implementing and establishing diversity and sustainability. It is important to us that everyone, regardless of their gender or origin, feels addressed and included by our fashion to create a feeling of community.

W1P Studios’ communication focuses on creating awareness of our high production standards and the quality that comes with it. We further want to encourage a greater appreciation for materials and fashion. In times of fast fashion, this can easily get lost. It is important to us to produce ethical fashion. Apart from that, we put a clear focus on sustainability by using sustainable techniques and materials and try to produce low to zero waste. We always strive for finding new solutions to better our impact on the environment.

Slow Fashion?

We consider our pieces slow fashion, as we are only producing approximately two collections per year. We also feel like this term resonates a lot with our work ethic. A lot of effort and craftmanship feeds into our collections, thus it takes time to produce the pieces. Moreover, W1P Studios works as sustainable as possible, upcycles, recycles and repurposes materials. This process also demands a slower approach. And last, but not least, most of the pieces are one offs and we follow a made-to-order policy, so we only produce pieces after they got ordered to save storage capacities and sources.

Up until now, all pieces are manufactured locally in Berlin or with carefully selected producers in Germany. Unlike it is often quite common in the fashion industry, we value ethical working conditions and aspire to pay each person, that works on the collection, more than the living wage.
